Here's my dilemma. There were actually 36 blockhouses between Nashville and Decatur and 11 of those were in Alabama, leaving 25 in Tennessee. I know for certain 12 of the blockhouses were north of the Duck River, but after that, headed south, figuring out what was where is maddening. Even for the Duck, which one would assume had at least one blockhouse because crossing it was a long, truss bridge, I can find nothing. Sometimes I wonder why I even attempt this thing called book writing.
