Re: Old Man Jack Hinson...REDUX....
The obituary from the Dover newspaper says he was buried on the Joel Boyd place at Bear Creek. The will of John Hinson's wife Elizabeth gives her cousin Joel Boyd as co-executor of her estate and guardian of any minor children. There is only one adult Joel Boyd showing up in Tennessee during this time period. That is Elizabeth's cousin Joel Boyd of Stewart County who lived in the next major stream valley north of where John and Elizabeth Hinson had lived much of their lives in Stewart County. Joel Boyd is buried in the Joel Boyd Cemetery in the Bear Creek drainage and probably others of the extended family of John and Elizabeth Hinson. McKenney himself told me on the telephone a couple of years that over the years the descendants had in the 20th century erected two separate headstones for John Hinson in Houston County but that the family had no real proof he was buried there.
