A.M. Blythe

An old family bible states that my gg grandfather, Anderson M. Blythe, served as a Private in the Confederate Army.

He was born abt. 1830, married in Maury Co. TN in 1847 and can be found on the 1850 Maury Co. TN. census. The 1860-1880 census records show him in Obion Co. TN. He died Feb. 1892, no pension for he or his wife, Martha Cranford, who died abt. 1897.

I can't find a possible match on the CWSS. Is it unlikely he served if he was born in 1830 ? I also wonder if he may have served in a Home Guard Unit. Does the CWSS include men from Home Guard units ?

Thanks,

D.W.
