Ballard, A. H. Pvt. Sgt. F CSR, Etter
Enlisted 6/9/61 in Cookeville. Detailed in hospital at Murfreesboro
12/21/62. Resigned his command 6/5/63. Back with Co. F in 7/63. Promoted to
3rd Sgt. 1/1/64. Is listed as an attendant prisoner/wounded at hospital #1
Murfreesboro 4/3/63. Is on rolls of prisoners at Penitentiary in Nashville
4/9/63. Captured 1/1/63 at Murfreesboro. Sent to Louisville. Exchanged
4/14/64 at City Point Va. Was on detached duty as a nurse in Rome Ga.
5/1/64. Died at Fair Ground Hospital no. 2 Atlanta on 5/28/64. Etter diary
mentions one man from the regiment being killed on 5/28/64 in fighting.
Could it have been this man?

Enlisted 6/9/61 Richmond Tenn. Wounded at Murfreesboro 12/31/63. Was at
Quintard Hospital in Rome Ga. In 4/63 he was a ward master there. Rejoined
his Co. 6/4/63. Took Oath 5/5/65. Paroled 4/25/65. Mentioned in the
Confederate Veteran Vol. X p. 163 as being wounded in the hand at
Murfreesboro.

17 Albert H. Ballard, son of Richard and Nancy Ballard of Jackson Co, TN. Killed at Murfreesboro, TN. His nephew, Albert, married my maternal great-aunt, Susie Martin.
