Union Soldier Wilkes Curtis

Hopeing someone can give me some information on a Union Soldier from Bedford Co. Tennessee. He survived the war and is said to be buried
in a Bedford County cemetery. The information I have is that he was said to be buried off highway 64 west of Shelbyville looks like going toward Lewisburg.
His name doesn't show up on any of the cemetery listings of that county that I have looked at so far; however, several members of a Curtiss family, are buried in the Richmond cemetery in Bedford Co. There is a man fitting this discription who had the name of [John W. Curtis] (union) soldier in the Civil War Records, who I think is possibly him. I am told he went to Missouri at the beginning of the War and later had to leave and go back home [reason unknown] only to later re-join the army. If anyone can help me with more information on this man, I would appreciate it.
