North East Tennessee CW Sites

Our descendants of the 43rd Tennessee will be holding our third bi-annual reunion on Memorial Day weekend next year somewhere in the Morristown, Bulls Gap, Greenville area of NE Tennessee. http://www.43dtenn.com/

The most likely site would be nearby Morristown where our regiment in BGen. John Crawford Vaughn's Tennessee cavalry brigade was defeated by Union forces commanded by BGen A. C. Gillem on October 28, 1864 losing some 19 members captured.

The brigade was engaged during Oct/Nov. & December along the East Tennessee and Virginia RR line between Mossy Creek and Bristol.

A few members of the regiment may have been present at Greenville on Sept. 4 where Gen. Morgan was killed.

I seek help in identifying significant CW historic sites in this area and must see places to visit during our reunion.

Living on the Far Left Coast makes it impractical for me to make a prior reconnaissance.

Thanks in advance.
