I live in Clarksville.

Both the Jeffersonian and Chronicle shut down when the USS Cairo showed up to capture the town. They did not start up again until 1865 sometime.

There was a pro-Union paper in the town from 1863 onwards but copies are super scarce even on microfilm.

Other area papers that shut down early on were the Hopkinsville and Russellville, KY papers - some time in early 1862.

There is indeed a scarcity of period newspapers for this region.
