Johnson/Johnston

My gggrandfather was killed in the Civil War. This is what I know! His name is either James, Jim or Matt and they called him Sam Johnston. He married my gggrandmother, Elizabeth E. Scarbrough in about 1855 she was from MeMinn County Tn. They were living in Walker Co Ga. in 1860 with 2 children. She and Johnston had three children, after he was killed a Mr. William Thomas McGrew visited her, he served in the Union Army Company L, 1st Calvary Tenn. Mr McGrew fought with Mr. Johnston and then married his widow. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, LMB
