No one else seems to be answering you so will take a stab at it. This was apparently a very small skirmish so one should not expect many relics. Governor Harris was from Mansfield so may have been visiting relatives. Major Hardy’s Union command consisted of his two recently recruited, incomplete companies. When the major was killed, his father took his body back to Henderson County and buried him in the Wilson Cemetery near the Carroll Co. line. Hardy’s men erected a monument which mentions the skirmish. No other Union soldier is listed as killed. Two Confederates were wounded.
