Thanks for the reply, I didn't realize that so many were able to opt out of service. I would imagine it was easier to do in a city like Nashville as opposed to more rural areas where guerrillas had free reign. Also I know he worked for the fire department and that probably kept him busy enough. Thanks again for that explanation!
