Seeking information on Samuel L Hardison; b 20 Oct 1816, d 23 Jun 1901 Maury Co TN. He was the son of William Joshua Hardison and Patsy Long Hardison.

I have a copy of an index card listing him as a captain in the 11th TN Cavalry. I also have a copy of the record of his surrender on 4 May 1865 in Citronelle AL as captain of 17th Tn Cavalry. This listing is annotated 'or 11th'. I got these from Jim a couple of years ago. I've been unable to find any other reference to him in any connection to the 11th TN.

There is a reference in the OR Series 1, Vol 45, Part1. pg 1097 in a letter(?) from Col Capron 27 Nov 1864 that refers to 'Sam Hardison's guerilla band'. I don't know if this is the same Sam Hardison or not.

Any ideas on how to track him down?
