Forrest's Escort

I have read much about Forrest's use of Escort Companies during battle; used them at the critical moment. After significant research on Confederate casualties of Brice's Cross Roads, I did not find one Escort casualty listed on his Chief Surgeon's report after the battle (the official report Forrest filed listed all the names of the KIA and WIA). And at Brice's he used both, his old Tenn Escort and Gartell's Georgia company.

I have found one member of Forrest's Tenn Escort - not included in the official report, that was listed on a long list of casualties from the battle being admitted to Lauderdale Springs.

Any understanding why his Escort did not have more casualties ? The one I have listed is a man named Wharton.

Thanks.
