Re: John Lawler Co A 7th Tn Cavalry

John A(bner) Lawler, Co A, pvt, enlisted an 6/22/63 at Fort Hindman, absent sick Feb 29, 1864 which probably explains his not being captured with the regiment on March 24, 1864. He apparently never returned to duty which resulted in denial of his application for an invalid pension in 1893. His brother, James G Lawler enlisted same company, same time, also pvt. James was 5’8” tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, born in Henderson Co. He died of pneumonia at a private residence in Huntingdon, TN on 1/5/64. His father, Lewis S Lawler received a father’s pension in 1881. For further family information holleyps@yahoo.com.
