The following article appeared verbatim in the Dyersburg State Gazette on May 30 1907:

FROM AN OLD COMRADE; MEMPHIS, TENN., MAY 27, 1907--Mr. T. L. WELLS, Dyersburg. My dear Mr. WELLS; I am just in receipt of your kind favor of the 26th informing me of the death of Tom LEDSINGER, I am exceedingly sorry to hear that a true a soldier and so good a man and friend should have passed away. He was one of the truest and best men I ever knew. If I had known of his death in time I should certainly have done myself the honor to be at his funeral. A few more years and we will all be gone. He has only preceeded the rest a short time. Thanking you again for remembering me. I am Very truely yours, Jas. E. BEASLEY. ( J. E. BEASLEY and Bill FLOWERS assisted Tom LEDSINGER to carry General STRAHL off the field of Battle of Franklin when the latter was mortally wounded in that memorable conflict. )

William Asa (Bill) Flowers (Co. K), Tom F. Ledsinger (Co. K) & James E. Beasley (Co. A) were members of the 4th Tennessee Infantry CSA.

Bill (William Asa) Flowers was my great great granduncle. I'm familiar with the burial places and service records of Tom Ledsinger & William Asa Flowers.

James E. Beasly's place of burial is unknown to me. Also I can't seem to locate his service record. Any info on his service & life after the war and place of burial would be appreciated.

Thanks,

D. Williams
