The service records are fragmentary at best. A number of the soldiers of the 8th Battalion were captured at Salisbury NC during Stoneman's raid in April, 1865. I have home counties for those, but none listed a county in Minnesota. I am just beginning to try to match individuals with their federal units, but I don't believe I have any from Minnesota so far. I will keep looking.
