My Great Grandfather went to America shortly after 1859 and never returned. According to the family book he fought in the fighting ranks and the commisariate of the Union Army.

As we had Simpson kin from Co Antrim Northern Ireland in TN much earlier, I thought I would start my search with the TN regiments.

I found a John Simpson in the 5th TN Cavalry Company B. I would appreciate any help in my search.
