The last muster roll for Company K which survived to be recorded in the Compiled Service Records was that for the period January & February, 1864. The company was stationed near Dalton, Georgia at the time. Hence, we cannot trace soldiers from this company thereafter through these records.

This mirrors the same fate for most Confederate records which may have been among those not saved at Richmond, instead being destroyed during the evacuation of that city.

Where available, hospital records, Federal POW records, Parole papers, etc. help us track soldiers thereafter.

As I pointed out in a separate thread, the regiment fell back into South Carolina following the battle of Nashville and finished the war Gen. Joe Johnston's army.
