The Confederate Conscription Act of 1862 required men to serve three years.
My question:
Were the initial one year enlistee's required to serve an additional two years, which would equal three, or three years from the time the law was enacted ?
I've read much conflicting info on the above, even that later on men were required to serve for "the war" making the three years rule meaningless.
