Don't know how much help I'll be. I don't have the specific dates you need but I've found some things you may or may not have. MERRITT DUNCAN ( alternate name MEREDITH DUNCAN,)Private, Co. I 62 Tenn. Mtd. Inf.) There were 3 or 4 other DUNCANS in the 62nd. ( maybe brothers ? ) JOSEPH W. Private,Company D, J.W. Private Company F, ( probably same soldier who served in 2 seperate Companies transfering from one to the other.) JESSE DUNCAN Private Co A. I had several distant ancestors ( bro's of my maternal g,g,grandmother ) who served in the 60th Tenn. Mtd Inf. the 60th, 61st, and 62nd regiments helped make up the EAST TENN. BRIGADE of Gen. JOHN VAUGHN. My LAND ancestors came from Wilkes, Alexander, and Caldwell Counties in Western North Carolina. Is that where you're from ? Many of the EAST TENN BRIGADE were captured at the battle BIG BLACK RIVER BRIDGE, fought in May of 1863. Do you know if MERRITT spent time as a P.O.W.? There is a website on the 61st Tenn. Mtd Inf with a lot of info on the brigade. You'll probably have to send for his service record from the State Archives in Nashville to get the dates you need. Hope I was able to help. Good luck in you're search.
