Cleburne Memorial Service,
Reburial of Five Unknown Soldiers
To be held March 20th

The 19th annual Gen. Patrick R. Cleburne Memorial Service will be held on March 20, 2004 at the Maple Hill Cemetery, in Helena Arkansas. Dr. Bill Gurley will be the guest speaker. The service will begin at 12:00 noon at the General's grave site in the Confederate Section of the cemetery.

Following the Cleburne Service there will be a reburial service for five Confederate Soldiers who were unearthed recently on the Helena Battlefield. They will be reburied in a common grave, in the Confederate Section of Maple Hill Cemetery. The burial will be with full military honors by Confederate Reenactor under the directions of Capt. Mark Kalkbrenner of Company D, 1st Arkansas Inf. Regt.

We encourage everyone who is interested in the history of the War Between the States to attend this event. Help us honor Arkansas' greatest war hero and pay our respects to the five brave men who died in the Battle of Helena, July 1863.
