Glenn
I went to the Library at Taylorsville today to see what I could find. It's about 15 miles from where I live . But I just love this stuff.
Leroy Holsclaw 7th Co A
Born in Alexander County where he resided as a Farmer prior to enlisting in Alexander Co at age 20 July 23 1861 for the War.Present or accounted for through Oct 1864. Captured at Richmond Virgina April 3 1865. Was in Hospital there when paroled April 20 1865.

I didn't know if you had this so I got it too.
1850 Census Alexander County
James Holsclaw age 36 100 acres of land
Melinda 38
Leroy 10
Cintha 7
Martha 5
Jefferson 3
Mary 1
I also found where a Henry Holsclaw had saved some children from being killed by the Chereokee Indians in 1768
in Alexander Co. I thought this might be some of your people . There wasn't that many Holsclaws in Alexander Co in 1768.
If I can help any more let me know.

Best Regards Dale Bolick SCV
