John Gregg resigned from the Confederate Congress in the summer/ fall of 1861 to command the 7th Texas Infantry. None of the sources I have mention the exact date of his resignation. I'm sure this is recorded somewhere, and I'd appreciate if someone would enlighten me about exactly when Gregg's tenure in Congress ended.
