Re: 28th Regiment, Texas Calvary (Randal) ;1st Tex

Several years ago, I wrote a history of the 28th Texas Cavalry. The book was published by the University of Arkansas Press with the title of PECULIAR HONOR: A HISTORY OF THE 28TH TEXAS CAVALRY, 1862-1865. The regiment served in Walker's Texas Division and campaigned extensively in Arkansas and Louisiana. They fought at the battles of Mansfield (Louisiana), Pleasant Hill (Louisiana), and Jenkins' Ferry (Arkansas). When I return home, I will check my files and see if I have any information about your ancestors--if I locate anything about them I will email you with the information.
