Re: 28th Regiment, Texas Calvary (Randal) ;1st Tex

I do not have any additional information to give to you about either Leroy M. Risinger or Jordan C. Risinger. However, there was also a Tilman Lafayette Risinger who served in Company A of the 28th Texas Cavalry--this was the same company that Leroy and Jordan served in. According to the 1860 census, Tilman L. was 25 years old, a resident of Shelby County, a native of Alabama, and a farmer. He enlisted on 2 April 1862. According to the TEXAS REPUBLICAN newspaper of 22 January 1863, Tilman L. died on 2 December 1862 at Camp Nelson, Arkansas. There were a number of Texas soldiers who died at this camp in the winter of 1862-1863. The camp was located near Austin, Arkansas.
