I just found your messages regarding the 30th Texas. My great-great-uncle, W.P. Jacobs, was in that unit. We have just discovered letters that were stored and found after his great grandaughter died. They make references to Camp McCullock in 1862, Camp Big Blow, Okla in Aug 1863, and Perryville in 1864. The letters are in fair shape, but am just know in possession and attempting to decipher. Most are letters to his wife in Alvarado, Texas. He died in 1871 from pneumonia, and apparently was a Mason there in Johnson County.
Any help would be appreciated in the history of this unit, as I have not found much.
