Battle of Oxford Bend

I am trying to locate accounts of a small but important battle that took place at Oxford Bend, Arkansas, on October 28, 1862. The site of the battle is nine miles east of Fayetteville, near the modern-day community of Elkins.

Four regiments were involved on the Confederate side: the 20th, 22nd, 31st, and 34th Texas Cavalry. The Texans appear to have been routed by a much smaller Union force.

As far as I know, there are no official reports of the fight in the O.R. or in the new Supplement to the O.R. I have run across two or three published personal accounts by Union soldiers but these are not exactly models of scholarly objectivity.

Having lived in Texas for many years, I know that many county libraries and historical societies have small (and sometimes not so small) collections of letters and diaries written by Texas Confederate soldiers. Other letters and diaries remain in private hands.

Do any of the readers of this message board know of any such documents describing Oxford Bend from the Confederate perspective? If so, please help.
