The majority of soldiers were in Col. John H. Burnett's 13th Texas Cavalry Regiment (dismounted). This unit was in Walker's Texas Division, 1862-1865. There is also Burnet's 1st Texas Sharpshooters, a much smaller organization in the Trans-Mississippi area, but I never heard of it referred to as a cavalry unit.
