Hill College Press has just come out with a new book, "Texas Burial Sites of Civil War Notables". The authors are Jim Mundie, Dean Letzring, John Luckey, and Bruce Allardice. The book takes the most notable 640 Civil War personages buried in Texas and for each gives biographical information, a photo of the gravesite and directions on where they are buried. It is the first such field guide to cover the burials in a particular state. Generals, colonels, civil officials, naval officers, heroes such as Dick Dowling, and authors, Union as well as Confederate, are covered.
