Civil War Medical Records in Texas

I am researching the Civil War records of WARREN ANDERSON MITCHELL, who was serving at Camp Number One of Instruction, called Camp Watts, located near Notasulga, Alabama. Warren Anderson Mitchell was on duty, in the recruiting office, when he died of pneumonia on November 20, 1862. Medical records are of interest.

Warren Anderson Mitchell was a native of Jones County, Georgia, and most likely was in a unit raised directly by the CSA.

I understand that the medical records for Camp Watts, near Notasulga, Alabama, are in the Texas State Library, Records Center, in Austin, Texas.

Has anyone seen Warren's records?

Any research tips would be appreciated. Notasulga does not have these records, I understand that these records are under the ledger of Samuel Hollingsworth Stout, Director, Confederate Medical Department, Army of Tennesee.

Thank you for any information.

Sincerely,

Terri Anne Hastings
