Jim I do not have any specific information in regards to your ancestor.

However, most of the men who were exchanged at City Point Virginia were consilidated with those of the 24th Texas Cav Dismounted and fought with the Army of Tennessee for the remained of the War.

The wound your Great Grandfather recieved may have precluded him from further active service and he may have been assigned to other duties other than with the 25th Tex Cav after he was exchanged. Most of those who were exchanged with serious wound were usually sent to the Hospitals in Richmond, Va.
