George W. Lacey - Burnet Co.,TX

I am following up on a question of a friend of mine, Lester Horwitz, who authored the book, "The Longest Raid of the Civil War." This book is a documentation of the famous raid of General John H. Morgan into parts of Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio in 1863. Lester is researching a sequel to his book. One of the stories he has come across is that one of Texas cavalrymen in that raid eventually made it back to Texas after the war and later donated the pink granite from Burnet County in order to build the Texas State Capitol Building. There were three names fro Burnet Co. listed as being involved in the donation: George W. Lacey, William H. Westfall and Nimrod L. Norton. My limited research found George Washington Lacey listed as 23 year old stone mason (born in Kentucky)in the 1860 Burnet County census data. Would anyone know if he was in any of the Texas units that fought with General John H. Morgan in 1863? Thanks for your help.
