Indigent Indians & Bourlands Regt.

Gary D. Bray,

Below is a paragraph from my vIIp25 which is at the end of the transcription of the Bourland Regt. info from the National Archives. It is a section where I have coupled the jobs of various soldiers. I listed indigent Indians first since the reason that I attempted this massive study was because I suspected that the residents of Indian Territory suffered from STARVATION and nearly froze to death.

Marshall Grimes and Charles B. Johnson contracted with the Confederacy to take care of the Indians. I'd very much appreciate any more information about Grimes and Marshall and their charge to feed the Indians.

Foodstuffs

Indigent Indians, feeding and providing clothing: [M.] Grimes and [C.B.] Johnson had a contract to feed the indigent Indians. Reference P.P. Brown, Groves, Hargrove, Nichols, Owen, and R.M. Smith. (see vIp305.)
