Gary,
Thanks for the response. What I have is info from other family members, who say that "Frederick Bowen was a Confederate soldier who served in Co. E, Lackensies Regiment of Texas from the fall of 1861 to the close of the Civil War. That he was honorably discharged." This on an affidavit from William Bowen of Indian Territory, who was Fredericks brother. Affidavit was for widow Mahala Bowen to get a pension. She was in Arkansas.
Also and affidavit from Mahala Bowen, widow, who said he was a soldier in the Army of the Confederate States, a member of Captain Hickey Regiment of Lacklin from the state of Texas. She was allowed $50 a month. There was also an affidavit from Susan E Bowen Hall, sister, also of Indian Territory. These 3 affidavits were dated 1903. I appreciate any confirmation and extra information that I can get. Thanks so much! Phyllis
