Re: Scanland's/Gillette's/Good's & Wells' Tx units

For what it is worth, on August 20, 1864, there was a direct issue of arms, accouterments, and ammunition from the Tyler, Texas Ordnance Works to "C. Good - Commanding Battalion of Cavalry at Bonham," the following:

255 New Texas Rifles

120 New Hill Rifles

375 Cavalry Cartridge Boxes

375 Cap Boxes

375 Waist Belts

375 Tin Canteens

375 Canteen Slings

375 Gun Slings

25 Sabre Belts

8,000 Musket Caps

3,000 Mississippi Cartridges

5,000 Enfield Cartridges

Source, RG 109, Chapter 4, Vol 148, Misc. Records of Little Rock Arsenal and Tyler, Texas Ordnance Works, P 271. The Hill Rifles were .54 Cal. and the Texas Rifles were .577.
