Can anyone give me information on the 1st Texas Infantry, Co D, "Texas Guards" that were recruited at Kickapoo, Anderson County, May 1861. On the roster is Smith S. Honea, died of typhoid May 25, 1862. I am trying to prove his gravesite as it is currently unmarked. I am trying to determine if he were home in Cherokee County when he died and if this is indeed his grave.
