Fort Arbuckle:
June 25,1861 - Aug. 26, 1861: Capt. Lewis G. Harmon's Company, Col. William Cocke Young's 9th Brigade, T.S.T.
Harmon's Company was formed May 27, 1861 with men from Hopkins County.

By state law, Texas State Troops could not leave the state.

Two companies of Col. DeMorse's 29th Texas Cavalry,C.S.A. occupied Fort Arbuckle on June 29, 1863. Capt. Hooks, Co. D; Capt.Elliot, Co.I.

Fort Cobb:
May 20, 1861: Lt.Col. James Jackson Diamond, Col.W.C.Young's 11th Texas Cavalry, C.S.A. Col.Young resigned and Lt.Col.Diamond assumed command and resigned due to a wound disability. Col. Joseph M. Bounds assumed command of the 11th Texas Cavalry and was sent to Arkansas under Gen.Ben McCulloch and then east of the Mississippi River and placed in Ector's Brigade. In October 1862, the post command was passed on to Lt.Col.Joseph D.Harris, 1st Chickasaw Cavalry Battalion. The post was vacated and reestablished at least twice by Harris. In February, 1864 the post was abandoned.

Fort Arbuckle:
Capt.Andrew Jackson Nicholson, Co. F, 3rd Texas Cavalry,T.S.T. Oct. 2, 1861, mustered into the 11th Texas Cavalry Regiment, C.S.A. and the company was moved to Arkansas under Gen. Ben McCulloch.

Major John Roberson Diamond of Col.James G.Bourlands Border Regiment,C.S.A. Maj. Diamond was post commander until April 10, 1865.
