After posting my initial inquiry, I did a search and actually came up with a hit that shows the son's name was Simeon. Moses, then Simeon, were postmasters in Bosque County post-war.

Thank you for the information. I am wondering if Moses Isenhour, if he was a county judge in his late 30s or early 40s in the war, served in some administrative rather than military function.

Does anyone know of any good books or articles about Magruder's re-taking of Galveston, and the administration of the area thereafter?
