I read that your grandfather, Pvt. Jack Cravey, surrendered at Appomatox. I have the NARA military records for my gg-granduncle, Sam Willson of Co. F, but the last entry is a muster roll for July 1864. Can you tell how to find out when, where and how he left the army? It seems that such a famous regiment would have some good records somewhere.
