Roberts' regiment spent the late summer of 1862 at Camp Ford. Roberts was named commander at Camp Ford on September 5, 1862, when Speight's regiment marched north and relinquished it to R.T.P. Allen on September 16, when his regiment headed out.

We have only fragments of material relating to Camp Ford as a training camp, and I would like to know the date and circumstances of your forebearers death, if possible.
