This Museum opened up on Jan. 25th, here in FT. Worth, TX.
I posted this on another BB (News & Views) but forgot to add it here…

Below are some of the items I wrote down notes on, please keep in mind that there are better qualified material culturalist’s out there who are more knowledgeable than I who could do a better job at identifying the clothing….

Confederate items: (Not all items there are listed!)
5 Confederate waist belts of differing types
Pair of Confederate leather Brogans
Pipe carved by Sgt. Toole 6th FL. Inf.
Richmond Depot wool blanket, tan w/ dark brown stripes at ends
3 Confederate haversacks, one Sgt. Maj. David Marks Co.D, 17th Virginia Reg.
Kepi, Confederate out of dark brown jean w/light color threads. Visor looked to be thick leather.
Confederate Shell Jacket, 2pc sleeves, SHORT body, slash pocket, 4 script I buttons, one bone button. Tan/brown color overall.
Civilian type shirt, typical pull-over with 4 buttons, dark brown (almost black) trousers worn by Sgt. John Tew Co.K, 51st NC Reg.
Confederate 7 button shell jacket with 2pc sleeves, 4 pc body, tan color, buttons looked to be NC Seal type, worn by William Royal, Co.D, 27th NC Reg. (North Carolina jacket)
Richmond Depot type Jacket worn by Pvt. James Meade, Co.K, 18th Mississippi Inf. Jacket had lighter blue piping around all the outer edges, trousers made of same cloth as jacket.
Maj. Gen. Robert Hoke frock coat.
Confederate Officer Swords, several Officer jackets on display with personal belongings…

Now, the Texas UDC has a nice assortment of dresses, I hope that someone else more knowledgeable on that subject than I, can do justice to the types, makes, and materials…I won’t even try!

You have got to come to Texas and see this Museum!
