San Francisco De Los Tejas, a restored Spanish Mission,
is located on Hiway 21 between Alto and Crockett in East Texas. San Fraancisco De Los Tejas was one of a string of 6 Missions(I think) between Nacodoches and San Antonio de Bexar. The Spanish abandoned all of the Mission and moved the settlers to San Antonio de Bexar. Antonio Gil Y Ibarrio (Ybarbo) led a group back and estabilshed the town of Nacogdoches. There are also Historic Indian Mounds in the area of Alto and Nacogdoches Texas.
