John Burden 19th TX Cavalry
In Response To: John Burden 19th TX Cavalry ()

Donna Burden-Macomber,

Captain Reuben E. Sanders’ Company was mustered into the Texas Cavalry Volunteers on Mar 31, 1862 but his muster roll does not show your John Burden as a private. Many joined along the march toward San Antonio ... maybe in the hill country.

I show one "John Burden" as one of 106 prisoners in Apr 1865, some of whom were arrested in Wise County. Keep in mind that this was near end of The War and everything seemed to be out of kilter.

My objective is like to identify all of these 106 prisoners in the command of Bourland's Regiment in Apr 1865.

My 1,014-page book, "Bourland in North Texas & Indian Territory During the Civil War: Fort Cobb, Fort Arbuckle & the Wichita Mountains" is described on my website, www.bourlandcivilwar.com,
