There must be Confederate veterans buried in many cemeteries in Gonzales County. However, I found the Bellevue Cemetery in Gonzales County that has graves of many Confederate veterans.

Since Eli Blanton's family lived in Fannin County and was so far away and was not able to install a stone marker, Eli Blanton may be buried in an unmarked grave since the original wooden marker would not last very long. Locating his gravesite would be a good project for the local SCV camp in that area.

My great, great grandfather died of disease with many other soldiers in Col. Locke's 10th Texas Cavalry in Arkansas and I am sure he is one of the 428 unmarked graves buried in the Camp Nelson Confederate Cemetery, just north of Little Rock.
