Mike W. Thompson,
One reason that Henry Boren turned against his neighbors may have been because of family connections. . Henry's parents were Wm. M. Boren and Julia Ann Dye.
On Aug 10, 1864 W. T. Horton, who had been accused of being a traitor, broke out of the Bonham jail. . Horton's wife's 1st husband and father, Rama Dye and Arphax R. Dawson, were hanged in the Oct 1862 Great Hanging in Gainesville.
See vIpp138 and 266 of my book, "Bourland in North Texas & Indian Territory During the Civil War: Fort Cobb, Fort Arbuckle & the Wichita Mountains" that is described on my website, www.bourlandcivilwar.com
Someday I hope someone will send me the Henry Boren family history.
