Ms. Campbell,
To get to the National Park Service site , go to www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/regiments.com
You will be presented with a number of boxes that you need to fill in. Don't worry, you don't have to have all the information . But you will need some basic stuff and I think you have that already. If you want to look at your ancestor's information ( REMEMBER, it is only a limited amount of information on individuals like name , rank when enlisted , rank when mustered out or left the service; stuff like that, not much more) . The NPS CWSS System should provide you with the location of your ancestor's records so that you can request his compiled service record, which is what you want. I also believe their website tells you how to order your ancestors records.
I hope this is helpful . Email me directly or through the Texas CW Board if I can help you with any thing else. There is a ton of Civil War information available through the internet that is readily accessible to you.
Good Hunting.
Regards, Craig
P.s. I never take the time to spell check so forgive any misspellings .
