Well's Tx Commands, Pt I

Here is a rough draft of a roster I'm creating of what I'm terming Well's Tx Commands. It is a transcription of the CSRs for Well's Tx Bn (which includes Scanland's Sqd & Gillette's Co.), Well's Tx Rgt and Good's Tx Bn. Unfortunately, the CSRs, especially for Well's Rgt and Good's Bn have a lot to be desired. One day I'm hoping to publish this material and if anyone feels like contributing information on any of the individuals I'd greatly appreciate it. Additionally, I have yet to go through the CSRs for the 1st Choctaw & Chickasaw Rgt which some of the men served in. Other projects are in the forefront. Also, I'll post the entire roster as my work schedule permits.

Aldridge, James: Name appears as a PVT in Co’B’/Wells’ Rgt within a letter appearing with Good’s Bn CSR for Reynolds, T.M. The letter is dated 9 Jul 64 requesting PVT Aldridge be furloughed for 30 days to assist his father in getting his thrasher to work.

“This man was detailed on 3rd June last for seventy days and on the 3rd last I made an application for renewal but the reply I received has in some manner been mislaid in my office.

I would respectfully state that Askins is running one of the best machines in the country works faithfully and steadily and is doing excellent service. He is now getting into the river farms where there is a large quantity of wheat wholly dependent on him to be thrashed out.
