In looking over the rolls of Companies A & B of the 6th TX Cav Rgt, I have found a few officers and SGT's that have been dropped. I have also found a few that were killed in battle or died from wounds and were later dropped to the ranks. Was the purpose of this drop or any drop to ranks to open up officer and NCO positions? Would appreciate any comments on this activity.
