My great grandmother was Rachel S. Blackwell, b. Sept. 7, 1841, N.C. d, Sept.3, 1891 Brown County Texas.

She married my great grandfather Andrew Jackson Webb in Seiverville TN on June 31, 1861. That was about a month after A.J. Webb joined the Union army as a 1st Lt., 2nd Tennessee Cavalry, Army of the Cumberland, U.S.A. They moved to Burnet County Texas in 1872 where A.J. Webb was a foreman at the granite quarry at Marble Falls, TX. They had two children born in Tennessee after the war, and five more children who were born in Texas. My grandmother was among those born in Texas.

Rachel (Blackwell) Webb is buried in an unmarked grave in Beaird's Cemetery, Brown County, TX. Her father was Joseph Blackwell of North Carolina.
