I have files on over 1300 Confederate unit flags and have one for the 2nd Texas Cavalry. The flag does not exist sof ar as I know or has simply not been discovered. Hundreds of missing CS unit flags are still out there somewhere!

At St. Charles Courthouse in Louisiana in early September, 1862, either the 2nd Texas Cavalry or the 13th Texas Cavalry battalion lost their flag to the 21st Indiana Infantry - and perhaps both lost colors there as two flags were reported as being captured.

Where these flags are today I do not know - probably in the families of the Union officers that captured them.
