Bill - In going over some old research notes I haven't looked at in a while, I found the following: H. F. Bridges was Captain of the 13th Texas Militia Brigade,Henderson Co., June 1861. Same militia unit my ancestors served in. Henry W. Bridges was on the muster roll of the 6th Tex as Captain of Co. I, the same company that my Henderson Co. ancestors served in. It's entirely possible that Bridges enrolled Co. I from Henderson Co. I'm positive, from other records, that H. F. is the correct name, and that Henry (W)
is a misprint. My g-g-grandfather, T. T. Temple, signed the probate appraisal for the estate of H. F. Bridges on
7 Nov 1863, so he obviously died prior to that date, probably while on duty. Hope this helps you.
